Catching Fire-Book Revew

After enjoying the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire was a VERY good sequel. The story centers around Katniss Everdeen, a victor of the Hunger Games, while a rebellion is brewing up to overthrow the Capitol's rule of Panem. Then, Katniss is asked to participate in the Hunger Games AGAIN....(been there, done that!) along with previous victors (the Capitol is very unfair...). I felt the first 100 pages of it were very good and almost better than the first, but after it was just full of too much mystery and had a been there, done that feel.

I love the Hunger Games, and I love this book, but it just really isn't as good as the first book.

Overall, I give this book an: A+ (Loved it, but COULD YOU FOCUS ON SOMETHING BESIDES THE HUNGER GAMES??????????????????)

By the way, movie (of the 1st book) coming out soon!  Be sure to see it! Book tickets on Fandango.com!

The Hunger Games-BOOK REVIEW

This book felt very dark at the beginning, and maintained that dark feeling, but was a very fun read. The story follows 16-year old Katniss Everdeen and her adventures as she volunteers to take her sister's place in a fight for the death on TV. This book was very heartfelt, and I feel the movie (debuting March 23) HAS to be good, to honor the book. I thought at some parts it was two flirty and two much gore and violence, but besides all those facts, it was excellent. I always look for a strong main character in a book. Strongly written, likes and dislikes, and you feel those characters feelings and emotions. Katniss fits that perfectly. My favorite character is 12-year old Rue, also chosen to compete for the death, and feels like a total child.

Overall grade of this book: A+

If I could give it more, I would. It's the best book I've read this year!

THIS BOOK IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU-Book Review

This book I just finished today and found it was hilarious and very good. It was a fun read. It found Terces Society members Cass, Max-Ernest and Yo-Yoji dealing with a new threat: CHOCOLATE!!!! A chef named Senor Hugo has made chocolate that you can be changed by, and you go back to your natural instincts. Unless given an antidote, you are changed for life! The book centers around Cass's mother being captured by Senor Hugo and if not saved, Cass will be an...orphan. Cass, Max-Ernest and Yo-Yoji figure out many things, including that their principal, "the principal of principales" somkes, doesn't recycle, and plays cards online and gambles! QUITE A PRINCIPAL, HUH? Also, you realize a famous zoo abuses animals! Quite a new take on life.

I give this book an: A+

IF YOU'RE READING THIS, IT'S TOO LATE-Review

This book If You're Reading This, It's Too Late, a sequel to The Name of this Book is Secret, was a funny way to continue the Secret series. The book stars our heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest, trying to find a 500-year old creature before their enemies, Ms. Mauvais and Dr. L find it. The book introduces new characters like Lily, Pietro, Cabbage Face, Yo-Yoji and Wallace the Third. All characters are very fun to see. The book wasn't as good as The Name of this Book is Secret but also it was very good.

I would give this book an A-.

THE NAME OF THIS BOOK IS SECRET-Review

This book stunned me when I read it. It was BETTER than everyone said it was. It was BETTER than I imagined. Psuednonymous Bosch gives this funny idea to the story when he says he can't tell you so many things about the story, and also the first chapter sets you on a funny comical start and Chapter 1 1/2 is a funny comical chapter as well, but the story is better than ever. Survivalist Cassandra, who only has a mother and now friends at school, meets a boy named Max-Ernest, and together they solve a mystery about immortality and an evil group of 200-year olds plotting to become immortal. The book is funny, suspenseful, and a super fun read.

The story also shows friendship in two students with no friends come together and become friends and partners to solve a mystery.

If I had to grade this book I would give it an: A

The reason I don't give it an A+ is because it could have been a bit faster paced and a bit less draggy in the comical parts.
